Read MoreCasa Vida was founded in 2008 to provide child victims of abuse and violence with a safe place of shelter and support. Based in Dili, Casa Vida responds to the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of each child, offering support services to women and children from across Timor-Leste.
Holistic, child-centred support through a family-strengthening model, delivered across residential and family-based settings: safe care environments, case management, healthcare, professional counselling, education, life skills and vocational training, and safe reintegration.
Community education and awareness on child protection, gender equality and prevention of sexual and gender-based violence; engagement with families and communities to strengthen protective environments; early intervention before harm escalates.
Collaborative partnerships with government (including MSSI) and civil society to strengthen child protection systems; coordinated case management and referral pathways; building capacity of families, community actors and local stakeholders.

Hospitality, commercial baking, Arte Vida handicrafts, and financial literacy — skills for a life that does not depend on the shelter.

Work with police (VPU), health clinics (PRADET), and district networks to judge a safe family return and stop the violence from repeating.
